Mercy and Grace
Stomach pain was the most pressing issue in regards to pain for Jenna the last update. I can now say after a week of looking we found the issue via a CT scan with contrast this afternoon. Due to the radiation damage to her large intestines coupled with the chemotherapy she has been going through (5 weeks) her large and small intestines, for lack of a technical term, have went to sleep from the trauma. In an effort to give her some relief until the intestines awake a nasogastric (NG) tube was inserted tonight to relieve pressure. Jenna was much braver than Becky and I and did amazing as this procedure was completed. She continues to be brave and much more mature than she should have to be at this stage in her life. Her faith never wavering and her will only growing stronger. Through it all she has not shed a tear. Becky ask her the other night during a late night 2 a.m talk why she has not cried and this was the reply “I can’t cry because God has His arms around me.”. God is full of mercy and grace!!!!!
New Compassion Daily
Before this procedure we were talking with a nurse as she described what we were going to do and how it would be and she gave us a verse that rings so true.
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3:22-26
AS I read this and thought on it I realized this ties into how we are trying to daily approach whatever news we get and let God handle the next moment in time. Because as this states “His compassions fail not. They are new every morning”. Every day we can wake up and know that Gods compassions are not only there but never worn or broken but new and dependable. Through Jenna God continues to teach me new ways to strengthen my faith and grow deeper realizing the hope that He not only holds for us but gives to us liberally. Continue to pray and know God is always available and we are His hands and feet to help others around us. You will be shocked how many people appreciate you saying you are praying for them. There are not words to express what it means to us.
